SaaS Buyer Journey SEO Case Study - Growfactor

From 860 to 5,326 Clicks: Growing a Software Company’s Traffic

Table of Contents

In six months, Google clicks to this software company’s website grew from 860 to 5,326, up 519%. Impressions grew sevenfold, from 163,658 to 1,142,917.

New content did much of the lifting. Three guides we wrote earned 3,047 clicks from a standing start, and the rest of the site still grew 2.6 times.

Buyer journey SEO means matching your content to the stage a buyer is at, so search traffic lands on pages that lead to enquiries. For this software company, we grew visibility with new content, then rebuilt the pages around it: a redesign, updated content, project case studies, and a new header and footer.

What Growfactor Delivered

This was a full website engagement, not a single fix. We did five things:

  1. Wrote new content, including three consumer-tech how-to guides that reached thousands of searchers, and posts that fill gaps in what the site already had.
  2. Updated existing content so older pages say what the company does today.
  3. Redesigned the website so visitors find services, proof, and a way to get in touch without hunting.
  4. Wrote the project case studies, so a prospect sees real delivery before making contact.
  5. Designed the header and footer, so the route to the contact and work-with-us pages stays in view.

This work sits inside a wider plan, where content, structure and measurement are planned together. That is how our SEO services in Pakistan are set up.

What Growth Looked Like

We compared Google Search Console’s Performance report for the last six months with the previous six.

Metric Previous 6 months Last 6 months Change
Clicks 860 5,326 +519%
Impressions 163,658 1,142,917 +598%
Pages earning at least one click 64 128 2x
Queries earning at least one click 80 597 7.5x

Source: Google Search Console page and query exports. The query report excludes anonymised queries, so the total is lower.

The growth built up. About 74% of the six-month clicks, roughly 3,960 of 5,330, landed in the latest 13 weeks. Weekly clicks ranged from 254 to 356, and weekly impressions rose from about 47,000 to a peak near 60,000 in August.

Where the Growth Came From

Content led. Three consumer-tech how-to guides had earned no clicks before. In six months, they brought in 3,047 clicks, 57% of the total, and one on using Apple Pay on Android phones delivered 1,611 on its own.

The rest of the site grew too, from 860 to 2,279 clicks, about 2.6 times. The company’s own pages were improving alongside the new guides.

The Pages Closest to a Sale Grew Too

The work-with-us page went from 56 to 172 clicks, with its click-through rate rising from 4.1% to 6.5%. The case studies page went from 1 click to 47, and the homepage nearly doubled, from 589 to 1,140 clicks.

Brand searches doubled, from 261 to 536 clicks, which usually means more people are hearing the name and checking the company out.

Pakistan sent 1,299 clicks, up from 541, at a 4.06% click-through rate. Searches for software houses and IT companies in Karachi grew from 74 to 155 clicks. The United States moved from position 32.4 to 9.9, and sent 1,400 clicks, up from 50.

People in the local market already trust this company when they see it. Adding city-level signals can turn that into direct enquiries, which is what our local SEO services in Pakistan are built to do.

Noise in the Data That Needed Cleaning Up

Some of the numbers had nothing to do with buyers. Twenty-six gambling-related queries picked up 204 clicks, and AMP results and product snippets produced 380 clicks at 18% and 22% click-through, against 0.47% for the site overall. None of it existed in the earlier period.

We cannot prove these are linked, but together they look like injected content, so we flagged a security and index review first. Thirty table-of-contents anchors also held 101,576 impressions (about 9%) and zero clicks. A proper technical SEO foundation keeps Google focused on pages that bring in inquiries.

Where the Next Gains Are

With reach built, the data shows where growth compounds. Service pages were seen about 201,500 times at a 0.13% click-through rate, and an ERP cost guide sat on page one with 11,777 impressions and 31 clicks. We’ve mapped this for 100+ businesses on 6+ years of white-hat SEO. If your blog is busy but your enquiries are not, start with an SEO roadmap. For this client, the content plan runs in this order:

  1. Rewrite the ERP cost guide’s title and snippet to promise real cost ranges and what drives them.
  2. Build the missing consideration pages: a fuller ERP platform comparison, a cost guide per core service, and a guide to choosing a software partner.
  3. Move service pages from Google’s pages two to four onto page one. Give each page one clear purpose, proof from a real project, and a direct way to start a conversation.
  4. Link the big guides to matching services, so a reader of the operating system post reaches the app development page.
  5. Run the security and index check, then clear duplicate URL variants and anchor links so reports show real pages.
  6. Track enquiries by source in Google Analytics 4 to see which pages lead to contact form submissions, not only clicks.

The Takeaway: Content Builds Reach, Structure Converts It

Clicks grew about sixfold, impressions sevenfold, and the pages that invite contact all gained. New content earned the reach, and the redesign, case studies, and header gave that reach somewhere to land.

If your site earns traffic but your enquiries stay flat, check where your clicks go. At Growfactor, this is the same revenue-focused content creation approach we bring to any software company that wants search to become a lead channel.
